Secrets of Meal Frequency and Timing
This chapter of Tom Venuto’s book, Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle fascinated me from the title.
It’s no secret that a fast metabolism is the key to losing weight. When you are blessed with a fast metabolism, this means that your body is burning calories all of the time, resting or active. This is an enviable position to be in for all of the obvious reasons.
The secret in this chapter is the power that it gives you to manipulate your metabolism and reach a point where you too are blessed with a fast metabolism.
I’m going to keep my description short here because I cannot explain the principle half as well as Venuto does.
Basically, he maps out exactly how you should eat throughout the day with some slight variance between men and women.
It’s quite a radical system but it reminds me of a great quote:
“If you want something you’ve never had, do something you’ve never done.”

It’s a lot of information but it really gave me some insight as to why certain diets always have the same predictable failure rate and what can be done to change this pattern and succeed in the long-term with a new eating habit.
