The Worst Foods Ever

Have you ever clicked on those links that you see on the internet that say things like “The Worst Food Ever,” or “The Top Ten Foods you Must Avoid?” I do all of the time and invariably, I find several things that I love to eat listed on those sites. The truth is that if you are going to lose weight, you are naturally going to have to change the eating habits that caused you to put weight on in the first place, and that can be a lot easier said than done.

If you have ever followed any of the links I mention above through to the page filled with information that curses all of your favorite foods, then we have something in common.

You will not only find that they discuss calories and fat grams, many times they also discuss health issues. We live in a society where extreme measures are taken to satisfy the consumers needs. It is as though we don’t realize that the more the needs are satisfied, the bigger they grow.

When we have large milkshakes, we need to make them larger; when we have large TV dinner portions, we need to make them family sized and when we have a glass of wine, it rarely ever actually is a 1 glass serving.

Forgive me for joining the band wagon, but below I am going to name a few foods that you simply must give up. Not just for weight loss but for your health as well.

Pepperidge Farm Roasted White Meat Chicken Premium Pot Pie

  • 510 calories
  • 9 grams of saturated fat

This is one of my pet-peeves, its like a lot of products out there that list serving size as 1 but when you look at the label properly, you will see they are referring to only half of the pie. Very few people cook frozen, prepackaged food and then put half in the refrigerator to eat at another time.

In other words, when you look at the nutrition labels for products like these, check to see if the serving size listed is half. If so, double everything!

Quaker Oats & Honey Granola

  • 219 calories
  • 4 grams of saturated fat

This is like that wolf in sheep’s clothing. It appears to be these wonderful natural concoction that must be good for you.

Well it might be if it weren’t for the unimaginable amounts of sugar laced all over this food. Don’t be fooled by things that appear to be healthy. Do your research properly, check things like sugar and fat rather than going by the pictures or product names and what they imply.

Chicken Selects Premium Breast Strips from McDonald’s (5 pieces) with creamy ranch sauce

  • 830 calories
  • 55 grams (g) fat (4.5 g trans fat)
  • 48 g carbohydrates

Obviously, a fast-food item had to make the list. Not only are they convenient but they taste great too. I have my own little theory as why they taste so great, (perhaps massive amounts of sodium) but there is no fact to it.

Nonetheless, the nutrition details above will show you the fact behind this ranking.

If you are going to eat fast-food meals like the one listed above just know that you are going to remain overweight and unhealthy.

The book, Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle, comes with two great bonus items that get very spefici about good and bad foods. Author Tom Venuto breakdown the components that you should consider everytime you eat something.

More than just the typical lecture, these two bonuses compliment the book very well as a great educational tool to help you in your quest to losing weight and keeping it off.
