Those Pre-Packaged Plans

What have you tried in shear desperation?I confess I have a list a mile long of ridiculous diet plans that either didn’t work at all or only worked because they were so extreme (while also being incredibly unhealthy).

One of the ones that bordered between reasonable and unreasonable was a certain extremely popular pre-packaged food plan.

I joined because of a commercial. For years, I had seen testimonial after testimonial where people showed off amazing weight loss results. When they finally offered a reasonable sign-up price, I decided to go on over and take a look for myself.

The concept was good. I would go into the office every week to pick up food. I would also have a weekly consulting session while there. This would include a weigh-in to discover how well I was doing in reaching my goals.

Though it was inconvenient to go down to the office every week, I did it because it was working. The counseling sessions were brief, we’d talk about any struggles during the past week, any concerns about the upcoming week and finish off deciding on a diet plan.

I have to admit, it worked and I lost weight, but there was one problem.

How could I ever plan to spend the rest of my life eating most of my meals out of a cardboard box? It just didn’t seem practical.

Sure enough, my finances changed and I wasn’t quite able to afford their pricy meal plans. I tried downgrading to the cheaper meal plan. I could barely eat the food.

I tried compromising, having a few of the nicer meals and mixing them in with the cheaper meals, that didn’t work either. And I confess, when the not so great tasting meals came around, cheating started to creep into the picture.

The strain on my wallet being just too much, I had to quit the plan, and then my second concern kicked in. It’s all well and good while you’re on the plan but what happens when you’re not? Quickly and way too easily, the weight crept back on pound by pound.

This is why I do not believe this is the way to lose weight. The way to lose weight is education. These programs do not educate you because with education, you are liberated. You no longer need there plan and they lose their monthly income.

You are much better off using a resource that gives you all of the information you need to lose weight the real world.

The book Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle, is all about information. Champion weight lifter, Tom Venuto, pours his many years of experience into your mind and leaves you well equipped to lose the weight and keep it off.
